"Love" - Take Five Challenge at Paper Issues

I played along with Mary Ann's Take Five Challenge at Paper Issues.  From the list I used a circle (the brad), title, journaling, 3 papers and the date.  I put two Silhouette images from the Silhouette store together to make one big cut and backed it some Dear Lizzy and cut out a big flower from Webster's Pages.

I love Mary Ann's Take Five Challenge and made this one as well:

Hope you can stop over and play along with the Take Five Challenge!

Fancy Free layout - Cherish

I hope everyone that wanted some Fancy Free was able to get some at Paper Issues Thursday!  There's still some bits left.  I had to use the flower paper first, so here's the obligatory fussy cut :)  Hope everyone has a nice weekend!

Save the Drama for Your Mama - Paper Issues!

Paper Issues has a new issue out called Save the Drama for Your Mama, concentrating on using large, dramatic elements on your page like a title, embellishment or photo; create a layout about your mom and things she says, the lessons she has taught you, how you're alike or different; use of the new Paper Issues llama card; or create a project about a stage show, your favorite TV drama or a musical.

I used the nifty big acetate numbers  from Paper Issues representing Emily's age at the time of this photo.  I love this adorable collection from Imaginisce, Sunny! It's so cute I had trouble deciding which paper to use first, so I ended up using six of them - lol.  The embellies are cute, too, and I can't wait to make more pages with this collection.  Get 20% off with code Melissa at Paper Issues to grab this collection or anything in the store.  Fancy Free comes in later this week!

Visit the Paper Issues blog for more inspiration from this issue and play along for your chance to win a gift certificate to the store.  Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Jot Mood Board, Fancy Free and Emily Left Me :)

Emily moved into her own apartment last weekend. I miss her and her sweet voice and sunny personality every day. Serge, our lab, is having the hardest time with her being gone. He stays by the front door at night instead of coming to bed, waiting for her to come home.  Poor guy! I'm excited for her new life, though. I had her take a bunch of selfies before she left :)  They're all slightly different and I'll scrap each one, so you'll see a bunch of similar photographs come up I bet! But they're all different to me :)

So I was able to get my hands on some Fancy Free embellies.  No paper, though.  So I just painted up some paper and did the Jot Mood board inspired by the yellow and white and pinks.  My first with Jot.  Lovely publication and inspiration.

Thanks for visiting!

Playing Around with Pinkfresh...

So Paper Issues was the first store I found to get Pinkfresh's new collection Life Noted in so I scooped it up and played with it the day I got it.    Sara had sent some pictures of some of her ventures around different cities exploring with her friends, and I knew I wanted to use this black and white "Awesome" city paper with her graffiti picture and add some hot pink Dylusions paint.  The other is baby Peanut giving me the side eye when I took his picture of Sara giving him a snuggle :)

Priorities + 2 Layouts

I'm so proud of Sara and how she's handling everything on her plate while she's off at college. I've had this picture of her for a while and never did anything with it, but thought I would use it for a challenge over at Paper Issues where I chose five things to use on the layout.  Here's the link if you'd like to play along this month:

Paper Issues Take Five Challenge

I'm more inclined to use Instagram now (melissa404040), so here are some other layouts I've done but not put on the blog, but have put out on Instagram...

Have a great weekend!

3 Layouts & Instagram

So I started an Instragram accounts last week.  After I came back from not scrapping for a year or so, I couldn't figure out where everyone went - message board are quiet - Pinterest has the same layouts over and over.  Then I figured out it's Instragram!  So I'm melissa404040

We lost my beloved Phoebe the day before Valentine's.  I scraped a sad looking little Instax of her. My heart was broken. She was suffering so much, though, and I know she woke up on Valentine's in heaven in a better place.

My DD bought a dog from a rescue organization and I did a couple of layouts of him because he's growing so fast.

Hope everyone had a nice Valentine's.

Cheerful Moments Mini

Since I've been so swamped with work, I thought I would have more bits of time to work on a mini here and there than whole scrap pages, so that's what I've done in bits and pieces of time lately.  I just gathered some of my favorite things and threw them all together.  I can add lots more pages and plan to add some of all four of the dogs :)  Hope you had a great weekend!  Melissa

My beautiful, sweet Phoebe has cancer and I've been taking more pictures of her to remember her.  She has an englarged heart as well, so it's not much longer now and I'm savoring every moment with her.  She's so sweet and has been the best dog I've ever had.  I love her so much.

I've been tags lately, but not doing anything with them.  So I made this layout last night.
